InDesign allows you to write words along the edge of an open or closed shape, such as a circle, with just a few mouse clicks. You can only write a single line of text on a path, so you can't insert a carriage return. If the text exceeds the path, the exceeding characters will be hidden. Launch Adobe InDesign, open the project you're working on, and then find the spot where you want to insert the circle.
Draw a curved line with the Pen Tool and use the Type to Path Tool to place your text along this line. It's important to note that the path you have drawn will automatically have a stroke applied to it and will be inseparable from the text. If you don't want the curved line to be visible, remember to change the stroke before drawing it.
Select white in the color panel to make the path line invisible on a white background. Click the Pen Tool on the left side of the document where you want the text to begin.
Move the cursor to the right side of the document, then click and hold the mouse button. Create a downward arch by dragging the tool up and to the right.
Drag the tool down and to the right to create an upward arch, or up and to the right to create a downward arch. Type the text you want to appear.
Double-click the text to highlight it. Select your desired font, font size and color from the Options bar.
